Nature Inc. is a television show on BBC World. The site is aimed towards creating a community of people concerned with the issues the show addresses. Spartacus Chetwynd commissioned Violet Technology to design, build, and maintain this site. It is an online archive of cultural theory recordings aimed at dyslexic artists. Recording information is stored and accessed using PHP/MySQL. The interface complies with the WC3 accessibility guidelines. Violet Technology designed and implemented this site for the Hausers, an extended family who owns a farmhouse in rural Vermont. They wanted a site that would provide a forum for both the family community and house maintenance. The site includes a bulletin board, an interactive calendar, and a gallery for uploading and viewing images, as well as address lists for family and maintenance contacts. The site is implemented in Drupal. The design is intended to invoke the feeling of the farmhouse; the strawberries are taken from the kitchen wallpaper. The site is password protected. The site is designed to reflect the image of the gallery, which exhibits contemporary art in a Georgian pump house, while providing a fairly neutral backdrop for images of the artwork.
